Playing The Major Scale
Get serious about learning the guitar
At this point you should already know
the formula for creating a Major Scale.
Start with the key (root note) and follow this combination of whole and half steps from the root-
Whole, Whole, Half, Whole, Whole, Whole, Half
So E Major would then be made up of the notes-
E, F#, G#, A, B, C# D#, E
And like the Pentatonic Scale, there are movable patterns for a Major Scale. Lets take a look.
Something to keep in mind as you're learning the different scales - Rock is most commonly played in the keys of A, G, E, and D. Focus on playing in these keys first.
